What You Will Do:
Work at our Philadelphia, PA Plant under the supervision of an experienced chemical process engineer in four areas of plant operations:
· Plant Utilities (City Water, Wastewater Neutralization, Steam, Electricity). Understand current usage and make cost effective proposals to reduce the plant’s $1.5 million annual utility bill.
· Process Improvements. Gain understanding of the plant’s chemical and physical processes and make proposals to improve them. Conduct plant trials and move them to standard operating procedures. Reduce raw material usage and improve yields for making products. Scale-up products from lab or pilot plant. Update batch process procedures.
· Quality Improvements. Analyze data to determine the most prevalent quality problems in production departments. Institute methods to improve quality performance. Assist in resolution of customer complaints.
· Capital Projects & Maintenance Support. Assist the Engineering Department Manager on projects as assigned. Work with CAD software to make shop fabrication and plant installation drawings.
Position Details:
Plant location: Philadelphia, PA
Work week and shift: Monday-Friday, 1st shift
Compensation package offered: $24.00/hr
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer literate with advanced writing skills proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Well-organized with ability to prioritize responsibilities
Has the ability to initiate tasks and work in an independent manner.
