We currently seek a highly capable individual with a strong background in microbiology to join our Global Analytical and Microbiological Services team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with other scientists to perform specialized microbiological testing to develop Ecolab products and serve as a technical resource on issues related to biocide efficacy. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to work on collaborative projects across the many markets we serve.
Essential Responsibilities
You will:
- Perform antimicrobial product efficacy testing on disinfectants, sanitizers and other formulations with primary focus on virucidal testing.
- Provide antimicrobial solutions as a partner on R&D projects and contribute to the development of differentiated technology, products, processes, and/or systems.
- Collect and analyze data, summarize findings in oral or written reports, and make recommendations for proceeding to project conclusions.
- Write, revise, and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain viral stocks and mammalian cell culture passages.
- Act as a GLP study analyst and/or GLP study director as directed.
- Support internal process improvement initiatives.
- Represent Global Analytical and Microbiology Services in a competent and professional manner for customer tours and in other interactions inside and outside Ecolab.
- Embrace Ecolab's safety culture.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, Biology, or related technical discipline with 2-5 years of related microbiological lab experience
ORmaster's degree in microbiology, Biology, or related technical discipline with 1-3 years of related microbiological lab experience
- Experience propagating viruses and/or mammalian cell cultures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing virucidal products following ASTM Method E1053
- Experience working under GLP Regulations (40 CFR Part 160 and/or 21 CFR Part 58)
- Experience working in a customer-oriented environment to effectively deliver testing needs
- Ability to innovate and think outside the box
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication / presentation skills
