What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Data Analyst position at ECOLAB?
Ecolab's Enterprise Data Office is looking for a Technical Data Analyst who is curious, insightful, and a strong communicator.A person in this role must have demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and data domains, plus a strength in drawing conclusions, forming recommendations and adeptly communicating with both technical and business teams. You will use established business analysis practices to translate business data needs and processes into functional requirements for the Product Information Management (PIM) system. You will create and communicate data definitions and procedures to improve data management and quality processes. And, you will assist the product owner in writing user stories that have accurate, testable, clear and concise acceptance criteria.You will also manage some aspects of the data model, such as code sets, taxonomies/hierarchies, attributes, business rules, and the configuration of data accessible through the UI. In this role, you'll be part of a cross-functional team that maintains close relationships with business and technical teams.
This position is based in St. Paul, MN with hybrid work schedule
What You Will Do:
- Exhibit curiosity and a willingness to ask questions in order to understand the "why"
- Become a trusted subject matter expert in the product data domain
- Self-direct tasks in order to accomplish project objectives within established team practices
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Business administration tasks like code sets, hierarchies etc.
- Establish close relationships with product owners in order to discover and translate both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Identify issues and risks and proactively communicate them to the project manager/scrum master.
- Identify and evaluate pros and cons for all solutions, and guide teams in making the best decision
- Create projectartifacts that clearly articulate desired scope and desired outcomes,and ensure they are understood by all project team members and retained for future use
- Provide Level 2 Operations support during US business hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other analytical disciplinewith 2 years of professional work experience or no degree and 6 years of professional work experience
- 2 years of experience as a business analyst in a technical environment
- 1 year of experience in reporting, data architecture, taxonomy, or database development
- 1 year of experience in data operations
- Familiarity with agile development practices
- Experience facilitating technical project meetings
- Experience with creating and delivering presentations

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Enterworks MDM or any other MDM platform tools
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including collaboration, facilitation and influencing
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, Azure DevOps or similar
