Territory Representatives are responsible for developing and managing a territory of customers in the quick service restaurant industry. Territory Representatives are responsible for the following: facilitating sales and retaining existing customers by providing service excellence, equipment maintenance and gaining new sales through new products and new customers and providing customers training on sanitation and food safety through high quality surveys.

What You Will Do:
Maintain equipment and collateral to ensure proper function and appearance
Complete the required Ecolab QSR visit reports based on the customer's mandated visit frequency (annually, quarterly, biannual etc.)
Install equipment to include warewash machines, water filtration systems, 3 compartment and mop sinks for existing customers and new restaurant set up
Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term work plans for the territory and customers to increase effectiveness and productivity
Facilitate the sale of Ecolab products by making suggestions for improvements with existing products and new innovations
Maintain knowledge of products and their applications for each specific customer
Demonstrate and train customers on use of Ecolab products and services
Maintain positive relationships with customers by evaluating their needs with a focus on sales opportunities
Effectively engage the right resources to resolve problems
Manage inventory by effectively merchandising existing inventory and identifying the causes for slow sales in core products
Meet with store management to provide feedback and findings after the store survey is completed and make recommendations for improvement
Complete required paperwork including the proper update of customer contact records and the territory management system
Utilize electronic and paper reports and other communication devices to communicate with customers, district manager, and the home office
Maintain adequate levels of car stock inventory to sufficiently support customer needs and keep inventory organized and easily accessible
Obtain knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles and their application for our customers in food handling and cleaning procedures
Complete the ICFSM exam training and become certified in Food Safety
Manage emergency calls including nights, weekends, and holidays
Manage days out of the field for meetings, vacation, sick/personal time, training, and rollouts with minimal impact to the district's objective
Willing to assist in covering open territories as needed
Perform and complete other tasks and assignments as directed by management
Position Details:
This is a field-based position and may require travel to the following locations and surrounding areas:
Milpitas, Fremont, Hayward, Richmond, Petaluma, Santa Rosa
Overnight Travel:
5 overnights per month
Weekend Rotation:
Responsible for weekend coverage 1 in every 13 weeks
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
4 years of food industry experience
21 years of age or older
Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Availability to provide emergency call assistance which may occur at night, on weekends and over holidays
Microsoft Office Experience
No Immigration Sponsorship available
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Mechanical experience (plumbing, electrical) and ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
Food safety knowledge/experience or CP-FS certification
Military experience
Previous business to business sales experience
Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:
$25.23 - $27.53 / hour. This position pays an hourly rate and is eligible for overtime and incentive compensation based on performance, per plan terms.Annual or Hourly Compensation Range is based on full-time 40 hours per week. Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
