Job Title: Procurement Assistant
Duration: 3 Months
Shift: 08:00AM- 05:00PM
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for various data management tasks within the commodity purchasing group s procurement systems. This person will perform duties that will ensure accurate data maintenance in these systems.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include performing the following tasks within the commodity purchasing group s procurement systems: entering and maintaining freight rate data mileage data and fuel surcharge data; performing contract maintenance including contract entry pricing updates and contract closure; performing scheduling tasks; entering demurrage and other assessorial fees; entering claims data; assisting in problem resolution activities while working closely with Tyson s feed ingredients payables team physical brokers and feed mill personnel; answering phones and coordinating messages as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: Requires knowledge and techniques normally acquired through two years of college leading to an associate degree or equivalent. Experience: 5 plus years work experience. Computer Skills: Strong computer skills required basic knowledge of programs such as Outlook Excel Word Access and PowerPoint. Purchasing programs such as SAP RightAngle Endur MTech and Agris will be used in this position. Ability to learn systems quickly is a plus.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with both internal and external customers is a must. Supervisory Responsibilities: Not Applicable. Travel: Minimal travel required. Other Requirements: Focus accuracy ability to follow direction and attention to detail are critical for this position. Ideal candidate will be able to prioritize and multi-task. Must be a team player.
