Ecompex is recruiting for a Cost Estimator to provide professional support services to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to support real property, technical, energy and environmental objectives and critical missions. Some responsibilities of this position can include preparing Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) and life cycle costs for acquisition and program support requirements. Occasional travel will be required.

Ecompex is recruiting for a Cost Estimator to provide professional support services to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to support real property, technical, energy and environmental objectives and critical missions. Some responsibilities of this position can include preparing Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) and life cycle costs for acquisition and program support requirements. Occasional travel will be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a CBP Tier IV background investigation to be placed in a position of Public Trust.
- Bachelor’s Degree related to the position.
- Construction Cost Estimation experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years related work experience.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Word, Excel.
- Strong communication, written, and verbal skills.
- Experience with government contracting.
- Experience utilizing cost estimation software.
- Strong ability to perform comparative cost analysis.
- Experience conducting training sessions for personnel.
- Experience developing metrics to track cost estimates.
- Research and analyze the current market and other agency purchases of similar products and services.
- Review historical prices, perform comparative analysis of similar programs, and obtain pricing data to facilitate the development of realistic program costs.
- Collect and analyze data to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to complete a project and/or procure a product.
- Create templates and document processes related to the cost estimating process.
- Develop baseline cost estimates for projects and products.
- Develop metrics to track the cost estimate versus the actual cost and create mitigation strategies to resolve differences.
- Create quality assurance measures to ensure cost estimating best practices are utilized.
- Create and provide cost estimation training for PMO employees.
