This position pays between $110,00.00 and $118,000. AnnuallyGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervisors have total responsibility for the area under their jurisdiction, including but not limited to: HSSE, Quality, Emergency Response, relevant OJT training, and issuing routine permits.
Ensure equipment reliability by following good maintenance practices in repairs, inspections, preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as following the appropriate standards for new equipment installation.
Act as a liaison between maintenance and production. This includes providing schedules and information so equipment is locked out/tagged out prior to maintenance commencing work, and resolving scheduling conflicts with the responsible area supervisors.
Provide daily supervision to the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation functions for the maintenance group.
Responsible for the most economical allocation of department resources. Write job procedures. Assist engineering and perform project work
Manage the work order backlog as well as the safety backlog items.
Support and maintain the maintenance management systems, e.g. RCS, Microsoft Project, etc.
Provide off hours supervision as required (on-call duty supervisor).
Ensure department personnel are properly trained and equipped for maintenance tasks including policies and procedures (PPE, operating manuals), monitoring of implementation of HSE activities and follow-up and correction of discrepancies.
Participate in incident investigations and corrective measures
Perform administrative duties (i.e. time cards, vacation scheduling, discipline, etc.)
HS&E RESPONSIBILITIES
Take ownership to ensure working conditions and housekeeping are up to high standards.
Actively support and enforce the plant’s HS&E standards – involved in all aspects of HSE related to the plant.
Does observations to ensure employees and contractors are working safely and complying with Company EHS and PSM policies and procedures.Directly address any safety or environmental issues with employees, contractors or visitors.
Review permits in the field to ensure they are correct, are properly documented and use those opportunities to discuss safety opportunities with those doing the work.
Emphasizes safety in daily contacts with personnel. Recognizes and reinforces good safety behaviors
Be knowledgeable of and comply with all applicable site, corporate and regulatory safety and environmental requirements.
Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and complete all applicable safety training as required.Hold regular safety meetings with your employees and include feedback on incidents and the safety performance of your team, plant, and the enterprise.
Properly inspect, use and maintain necessary PPE in accordance with site PPE matrix.
Report all safety or environmental incidents immediately and openly participate in the incident investigation.
Support the maintenance department by acting as a safety/liaison when safety questions and concerns arise.
Issue work permits.
Ensure the timely completion of work on the safety backlog.
Participate on Emergency Response Team.
Communicate clearly to all involved in specific work tasks the hazards and exposure involved.
Must be knowledgeable with the site contractor safety program
Must constantly perform environmental inspection and review of their areas
Ensure department personnel are participating in the monthly HSE training program, safety meetings, safety reviews and other measures
Responsible for making and implementation of recommendations to resolve site safety and environmental issues.
Ensure waste is properly labeled in compliance with local regulations
Look for waste reduction opportunities
Set and maintain HSE expectations and hold people accountable for their safety performance using both positive feedback and feedback for improvement with routine follow-up and using the ISMEC cycle
Be fully knowledgeable and trained on all safety procedures, especially life critical, and serve as guarantor over implementation of them in your area of responsibility
Ensure incident reports are initiated in a timely fashion and actively participate in the investigations, identifying root causes, immediate corrective actions and appropriate measure to prevent recurrence
Encourage open discussion of safety concerns in the area and then follow through to a timely resolution with feedback to the employees
Ensure appropriate procedures are written and kept current for their area, and that personnel are trained, understand, and follow the procedures
Perform supervisory audits
Communicate your expectations and hold your people accountable for their safety performance using both positive feedback and feedback for improvement
Be fully knowledgeable and trained on all safety procedures, especially life critical, and serve as guarantor over implementation of them in your area of responsibility
Ensure MOC’s are executed for process changes in your area, and that those changes are communicated, understood and followed by your personnel
Identify HSE improvement opportunities in your area and aid in their implementation.
Write, review and update Standard Operating Procedures.
Coordinate, lead, and participate in the plant’s regulatory compliance efforts.
Utilize corrective actions database in Manufacturing Solutions
Basic math skills;
Moderate computer skills;
Must be able to climb a ladder, drive a forklift, and use the man lift.
Capable of working with DCS, programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controls (PLC), control software and human-machine interface systems.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to wear full face respirator.
Able to read electrical and instrument loop diagrams.
Capable of using the equipment necessary to test and repair electrical circuits up to 480 volts AC.
Must be able to troubleshoot both pneumatic and electronic instrumentation loops and hardware/equipment.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)and Seven plus years of experience of Instrumentation and Electrical equipment
OR
Associates degree in Instrumentation and Electronics and five plus years of experience with Instrumentation and Electronics equipment.
AND
Three years of direct supervisory or management experience required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: List the licenses, certificates, or registrations that are required to perform the essential duties of the job
Licensed Electrician or Certificate in Instrumentation Training highly preferred.
