The Senior Web Developer will work with the Web Services Manager to execute the website strategy as part of ECPI University's overall efforts to enhance brand engagement, awareness and loyalty through various website paths and interactive content strategies. Additionally, the web developer will oversee all aspects of website content including editing webpage content, visitor engagement, conversion rate improvement, webpage design, development and deployment, website hosting and security, basic and advanced SEO techniques and strategy, accessibility, image and video content optimization and storage, website hosting, backups and restoration.

Responsibilities

• Execute webpage content strategy for ECPI University that enhances the brand, increases visibility and deepens relationships and engagement with key audiences
• Manage brand and identity positioning across all webpages
• Work alongside our cross-functional team of Designers, Content Creators, Developers, SEO and QA to own all aspects of our marketing website while continuously delivering improvements and new features
• Gather requirements for new pages and determine which components will best serve the content and overall user experience
• Assist with website administration, including reviewing core updates and contributed modules on development, staging and production environments
• Research and evaluate new design techniques, drive innovation in development of new tactics, stay abreast of trends, and make recommendations to the management team
• Explore ways to increase digital interaction to build conversations that contribute to the academic and strategic goals of the University
• Leverage tools, including Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; or equivalent work experience may be substituted
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Web Developer using HTML5, CSS/CSS3, jQuery and JavaScript, Drupal, WordPress or other CMS
• Experience in Higher Education vertical is preferred
• Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Pantheon, Github, MAMP, SSH & FTP, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite experience is preferred
• Nice to have: AI tools, Wrike, Google Analytics 4 and HubSpot experience
• Passion for web design, development, optimization and marketing

Skills/Abilities

• Experience developing responsive and mobile-optimized websites, views and block management
• Ability to work effectively in the command line interface or GUI Tool – Github, GitLab, SSH & FTP
• Utilizing AI tools preferred
• Ability to evaluate and select Drupal modules for desired functionality based on release and maintenance status, community dedication and usage, security issues, and availability of documentation
• Working experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite
• Understanding of website design, development, and testing best practices
• Experience with modern web development best practices for user engagement, speed optimization, funnel creation, conversion optimization, and the ability to scale content
• Basic knowledge of SEO best-practices
• Basic knowledge of ADA requirements and reporting
• Enthusiasm for learning new tools and techniques and for knowledge sharing
• Keen attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
