The Company

My client is a laboratory specializing in blood serum antibody testing for mycotoxins. Their laboratory tests for 12 different mycotoxins for both IgG and IgE antibodies. This is the most precise and accurate method to determine if a person has been exposed to mycotoxins.

Their laboratory is an independent laboratory and performs high complexity testing using ELISA method with microplates and microplate reader, only receiving and processing human serum at the laboratory from patients on all continents. It is not open to the public.

They are a small company with a friendly atmosphere. There are no big committee meetings, rather there is camaraderie.

The leader of this company, who is a Medical Clinician, Director, Officer, Advisor, and Medical Consultant, also Editor-in Chief of several journals and research studies, was recently selected as Top Medical Consultant of the Year for 2020 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for his outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to the healthcare profession.

The role

• Ensure that test methods selected have the capability of providing the quality of results required for patient care.
• Verify that procedures used are adequate to determine the accuracy, precision, and other performance characteristics of the method.
• Ensure that lab personnel are performing the test methods as required for accurate and reliable results.
• Ensure that the lab is enrolled in an HHS approved proficiency testing (PT) program for the testing performed.
• Ensure that the PT samples are tested as required under 42 CFR 493 Subpart H.
• Ensure that the PT results are returned within timeframes as set by the PT agency.
• Ensure that all PT results are reviewed by appropriate staff to evaluate performance, identify problems, and take corrective action. Sign and date the Attestation Statement for each PT testing event.
• Ensure that an approved corrective action plan is followed when PT results are unacceptable.
• Establish a quality control program that is on-going.
