ECS is seeking a Videographer to work in our Silver Spring, MD office.
Job Description:
ECS has an immediate opening for a Videographer to support the National Marine Fisheries Service, an office of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration within the Department of Commerce. The agency is responsible for the stewardship of the nation's ocean resources and their habitat. It provides vital services for the nation: productive and sustainable fisheries, safe sources of seafood, the recovery and conservation of protected resources, and healthy ecosystems—all backed by sound science and an ecosystem-based approach to management. There are five regional offices, six science centers, and more than 20 laboratories in 15 states and territories. This position supports the NOAA Fisheries Office of Communications in Silver Spring, MD. The Office of Communications coordinates internal and external communications and outreach for the agency at a national level.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate scientific processes and/or natural resource issues through video.
- Develop multimedia products in addition to videos.
- Produce social media-friendly video content for a general audience.
- Access video/b-roll through an online or cloud-based storage system.
- Develop b-roll packages for use by others including media outlets, and/or professional video production companies.
- Ability to publish and distribute videos using a cloud-based hosting platform such as Brightcove.
- Familiarity with recording and exporting video/audio interviews via a video conferencing platform (such as Google Meet, Skype, or Zoom) using the recording functions of ScreenFlow or OBS Studio.
- Experience creating and exporting animated maps in Google Earth.
- Ability to perform basic image/photo adjustments (cropping, color changes, resizing) using Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Lightroom.

Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Experience shooting, editing, and producing short, professional-quality videos for a general audience on time and within budget within the last 2-4 years.
- Ability to share a portfolio of professional-quality videos completed within the last 2-4 years.
- Experience in pre-production, production, and post-production video work.
- Ability to set up and operate audio and camera equipment to support a video project.
- Experience traveling independently to various locations and managing all aspects of the video shoot, including lighting, audio, interviews, and other logistics.
- Experience logging and tagging video in an online storage system.
- Proficient in editing video, mixing and adjusting audio, creating graphics, color grading, and exporting master and compressed files ready for publishing using Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Voiceover/narration skills.
- Basic graphic design/animation skills using Adobe After Effects.
- Experience working with the Google Workspace suite.
- Ability to manage and complete multiple video projects simultaneously.
- Experience searching and downloading video clips on stock agency websites.
- Experience searching music libraries and importing audio tracks for using in video projects.

- Team player capable of working independently and in collaboration with others to develop professional-quality videos for a general audience.
