ECS is seeking a ALSE Technician to work in our Lakeland, FL office.
Job Description:
- Aviator’s assigned equipment and aircraft installed safety equipment.
- Observes warning indicators and reports abnormal conditions or malfunctions to Maintenance Control, advises on false indications, and initiates, corrective or emergency actions as necessary. Advises on in-flight adjustments as required. Maintains records covering all repairs, modifications, maintenance, and inspections.
- Operates aircraft, accessory, and installed equipment and records the data as required. Writes reports as required for engineers, supply clerks, and inventory management specialists, and program managers as well as senior management.
- Works with a qualified technician, installs, aligns, modifies, and adjusts the various aircraft, accessory and installed systems, sub-assemblies, and surfaces autonomously according to specifications in repair and manufacturer’s manuals, as well as other engineering specifications as required by the specialized nature of on-board equipment.
- Works with a qualified technician, performs aviator equipment installation, rigging and operational checks. Performs major scheduled inspections, minor scheduled inspections and on- condition inspections. Services the aircraft with fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, grease, oxygen, and nitrogen as required by the airframe and equipment manufacturer maintenance manuals.
- Works with a qualified technician, performs major and minor aircraft modifications, alterations, and repairs. Proficient in installing, removing, and adjusting aircraft mission equipment and furnishings affecting the aircraft center of gravity and periodically assists in weighing aircraft and computing and recording weight and balance as necessary to ensure the proper loading of aircraft.
- Manages aircraft and aviator ALSE supplies and services.
- Uses computers extensively for various aircraft maintenance requirements and equipment records documentation purposes:
- Searches Federal and private sector parts listings systems to find parts at the best possible price. This includes the use of the Publog Defense Logistics Acquisition system and the commercial systems when authorized. Able to track parts back to the original manufacturer.
- Assist in maintaining a current aircraft maintenance technical library and ensure that all publications are posted with the applicable changes. The technical library includes, but is not limited to, original equipment manufacturer maintenance manuals, illustrated parts manuals, technical support manuals, manufacturer’s service bulletins and letters, FAA Airworthiness Directives, manufacturer’s Service Bulletins, and general aircraft maintenance practices and safety manuals.
Required Skills:
- Minimum Experience: Five (5) years of experience as a US Navy trained Aircrew Survival Equipmentman (PR) or equivalent military/civilian experience.
- Associates degree.
- US citizenship required per contract.
- Public Trust security clearance.
