What are the responsibilities and job description for the Proposal Analyst position at ECS_FEDERAL?
ECS is seeking a Proposal Analyst to work in our Fairfax, VA & Remote (Hybrid) office.
Job Description:
The Proposal Analyst team consists of innovative, initiative-taking, and collaborative professionals who support the ECS PropShop, which is primarily remote. On the Proposal Analyst team (affectionately dubbed the "A-Team" internally), we are a tight-knit group who believe in the importance of innovative thinking and efficient teamwork. We have high standards for the work that we produce, and we care deeply about details! We do not believe in "trial by fire" onboarding, and as such we have custom-developed an in-house training program to ensure new hires are sufficiently prepared for their roles. This position offers a balance of independent and collaborative work. Due to the PropShop's position as a centralized division at ECS, this is an exciting and rare opportunity to work with all business units and divisions within a large business.
The Proposal Analyst's primary responsibilities include: working in lock step with Proposal Managers throughout the full lifecycle of proposal development; supporting Request for Information (RFI) development; administering and maintaining SharePoint repositories; providing guidance related to SharePoint or MS Word; and providing administrative proposal support. Because this is a multi-faceted role, as the individual progresses and the team scales, there may be options to declare a "track" or specialty area depending on the individual's unique skills and preferences. This is a suitable role for anyone who has an interest in the content side of proposal development (writing, editing, and proposal management) and the technical side (SharePoint, troubleshooting, process automations, etc.).
Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Uses exceptional written and verbal communication skills daily to create, tailor, and edit content.
- Builds and maintains SharePoint sites for proposals. Provides consultative guidance on recommended changes to the SharePoint environment.
- Supports Proposal Managers in such areas as: resumes, past performance, note-taking, copyediting, formatting, logistics/scheduling, data calls, compliance reviews, white glove, and coordination with key stakeholders. To the extent possible, tailors such materials to better meet solicitation requirements.
- Participates in meetings with proposal team and other key stakeholders to review win themes, competitive assessments, and proposal strategy. Engages in color reviews and other conversations throughout the lifecycle of the proposal.
- Consolidates review comments as required. Regularly reviews and copyedits proposals, focusing on desktop publishing, grammar, and style depending on the proposal stage.
- Administers SharePoint environment for Proposal Development Operations. This includes: site setup; permissions requests; troubleshooting; document filing; among other duties.
- Regularly liaises with proposal contributors to create responsive Request for Information (RFI) templates: selects cover design; creates compliant outline; inserts appropriate boilerplate content; and conducts final desktop publishing activities for RFIs.
- Performs administrative tasks as needed, including but not limited to: scheduling meetings on behalf of Proposal Managers; occasional printing hard copy materials; and accurately filing documents in SharePoint.
- Supports tasks related to business intelligence such as database updates.
