ECS is seeking a Unix Application Administrator, Intermediate / Mid to work in our Hill AFB, UT office. 

Job Description:
ECS is seeking a Mid Unix Application Administrator to join a team providing application and database support for managed Department of Defense (DoD) mission partners.  This is a hybrid position allowing for three (3) days remote support and two (2) days onsite located at the client site. Candidates must be located within two hours of the client site.

In this role, you’ll perform Unix Application Administrator functions, including analyzing and studying complex system requirements.  Designing software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and managing their implementation.  Managing software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.   
Specific tasks you will perform as an Application Administrator include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform application administration services to web-based applications to include the installation, configuration, management, and administration of web technologies.
  • Perform application administration services to middleware components of managed systems to include installation, configuration, management, maintenance, and administration of middleware.
  • Perform implementation and upgrade planning, to include analysis and recommendations for use of middleware products and versions and their integration within distributed computing architectures.
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures related to sustainment activities for ensuring optimum service levels, and ensuring middleware is at current patch level.
  • Conduct the creation, configuration, modification, deletion, verification, and administration of all application accounts required for full system operations, support staff access, or end user access.


Required Skills:

  •  U.S. Citizenship
  • Interim or Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum five (5) years IT experience with three (3) years Application Administration tasks
  • Security certification or other IAT Level II or higher certification

Desired Skills:

  • Certified Solutions Expert in Business Application, Red Hat Certified Engineer, or Oracle Solaris Advanced System Admin certifications.
  • Bachelor’s or higher (IT, engineering, science, or math)
