What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Associate (Structural/Building Enclosure) position at ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC?
- Consulting services for the built environment and new construction including, but not limited to, the building enclosure/envelope (exterior cladding systems, roofing, waterproofing, curtain walls, slabs-on-grade), building enclosure commissioning (BECx) process in accordance with ASTM 2813 and LEED guidelines, specialized building enclosure and/or structural testing, building enclosure and/or structural consulting, forensic investigations, facility (property) condition assessments, and design of repairs to existing structures
- Leading and coaching junior staff members to develop technical expertise, project management, and client relationship skills
- Project Management including:
- Scoping projects
- Preparing and reviewing proposals
- Assisting project managers
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports
- Peer review of design documents including review of submittals and shop drawings
- Preparing and reviewing technical drawings and specifications for construction
- Business development and assisting other staff in marketing our services by maintaining and developing strong client relationships
- Participate in local and regional professional and industry organizations.
- Participate in technical groups within ECS to facilitate knowledge sharing across the company
- Preferred: Currently have, or willing to achieve within 6 months of joining ECS), a Building Enclosure Commissioning certification from one of these providers- IIBEC (CBECxP), ASHRAE (BCxP) or University of Wisconsin-Madison (BECxP)
What We're Looking For
- B.Arch or M.Arch accredited by NAAB or BS or MS in Engineering accredited by ABET, Building Science, Construction Management, or related degree accredited college/university
- 6 years of relevant experience in building facilities consulting
- Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect licensure preferred
