SUMMARY: Proactively provides profitable sales growth through maintenance of strong relationships with current & new accounts, increased sales to current & new accounts, attending to the short term needs of other projects, and cooperative interaction with all departments by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and grow relationships and sales within our trade area through effective time management.
Contacts prospects to explain features of services, costs and advantages. Responds quickly to customer needs with complete and accurate information.
Manages assigned accounts for Ed Herrington, Inc. profitability. Actively participates in sales initiative programs to increase sales and communications with assigned accounts.
Drives the H-builder initiative through proactive phone calls and site visits when necessary and approved.
Confers with customers/company managers to investigate/resolve complaints/discrepancies on product or services.
Assists credit manager with credit issues in order to safeguard our financial interests in any given project.
Coordinates with various company services in the presentation of Ed Herrington, Inc. services to the customer. Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
Participates in and contributes to discussions of quality improvements to our approach to customer service.
Supports Counter Sales and assists at sales counters when necessary to provide outstanding customer service.
Maintains customer data records.
Provides accurate quotes of basic material lists.
Writes orders and schedules initiation of services.
Works closely with Pro-Sales staff to provide clerical and customer support.
Participates in all required training assignments and trade show attendance.
Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.
Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; or 1 - 2 years related experience and/or training in the building trades industry; or equivalent combination of education & experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, & interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, & procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information & respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, & the general public. Strong negotiation ability and customer service presentation.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures & amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, & volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra & geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems & deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, & ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; & risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

OTHER

Regular, full time. Hours as assigned in a Sunday – Saturday workweek.
Office setting in assigned store for phone contact & availability, client research, review of customer base
performance with inside support personnel, discussion & development of improvements in techniques.
Requires valid drivers’ license & ability to drive in a safe & responsible manner. Clean MVR.
Must be proficient in ability to use & understand ECS Programs. Must be able to use available millwork
software, i.e. Anderson, Marvin, etc.
Requires advance knowledge of general lumber, millwork, building supplies, engineered wood design & products.
Independent position requiring minimal supervision.
