What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead - (Paintline) 2nd Shift position at EDCO Products?
The Production Lead is a key member of the EDCO 2nd Shift Paintline Team supporting the execution of EDCO’s Paintline production strategy. Success will be defined by your ability to be a working lead, while providing direction to Paintline operators, oversee the daily set up and process of the Paintline operation, and ensure finished product meets all quality standards.

WORK SCHEDULE
- Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gives direction to Paintline operators as needed to maintain acceptable production levels.
- Sets up the coater; changes rollers and roll speeds.
- Keeps all pumps working to maintain proper fluid level.
- Turns setscrews to adjust distance between coating rollers that control thickness of coating.
- Measures coating viscosity.
- Examines bare coated metal for defects or uncoated surfaces.
- Maintains inventory of all paint and primers.
- Keeps coater area clean and cleans pumps and mixers.
- Maintains primer and back stock.
- Operate a forklift as needed.
- Able to adjust, operate and monitor Paintline operation.
- Promotes and executes all company policies.
- Follows production schedules and able to adjust and adapt to different Paintline challenges.
- Perform and record Paintline quality inspections on coil by coil basis based on established coating standards.
- Monitor temperatures in thermal oxidizer system to prevent operation below required VOC destruction temperatures.
- Troubleshoots and initiate resolutions for Paintline.
- Train new operators in the safe and proper operation of equipment and procedures.
- Assists in the development and training plans for Paintline staffing.
- Supports department personnel in their development through communication and training.
- Reports any behavioral, quality, and attendance issues to the Paintline supervisor.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the Paintline supervisor and other EDCO managers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and understand tape measurers and calculators.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- Industrial manufacturing related experience and/or training
- Previous experience as a lead
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and heat (proper PPE & safety training will be provided)
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
- Paid breaks, frequent but short and intermittent throughout the shift, depending upon the operations of the paint line
