Our Retail Business is our customer-facing operation providing integrated energy management services to commercial and industrial, power generation, and retail supply customers. Taking into account a customer’s entire energy portfolio, solutions are structured to provide competitive market pricing and to optimize energy usage and generation assets. We offer a complete suite of services to energy-intensive retail customers, from energy supply and hedging to on-site generation management and demand response. And we provide wholesale market access and ISO interface services to a broad network of retail energy providers with footprints across the deregulated markets. For power generation customers, we provide energy management services that encompass fuel supply, scheduling, dispatch, market analysis and risk management all within a single contract. Focused on service, we created a digital integrated platform and customer interface that allows transparent views into energy portfolios and invoices, market prices, analytics and weather.

Job Summary
The Gas Analyst, under the direction of the Head of West Gas Trading, is responsible for forecasting developments in natural gas demand and pricing for the West/Texas regions.
Responsibilities

• Develop short-term and long-term analysis to inform the business's views of short- and medium-term natural gas markets
• Incorporate data from pipeline systems and other sources into macro-level and regional analysis
• Assist in the standardization (e.g. coding language, data sources) of models across desks.
• Identify and incorporate new key data points into models on a timely basis.
• Support team by managing data sources and working with other EDFT groups to share best data practices.
• Communicate information to traders in a manner that contributes to trade idea generation
• Develop regional balancing models and forecasts as required by the business
• Perform quantitative analysis of gas market fundamentals when needed
• Provide ad hoc analysis as directed by manager

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required ideally in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, or engineering; Master’s Degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in commodity markets required
• Prior experience in a trading environment preferred
• Strong knowledge in VBA, Python, R and Java
• Strong knowledge of statistical techniques and their application a must
