Journeyman Electrician (Lead)

Edge Electric is looking for licensed journeyman service technicians to join our rapidly growing team. As an electrician with Edge, you will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects that will shape the future of Austin.

Service Technicians complete small construction projects and respond to service calls from our customers. The Service Technician will perform electrical installations by his/herself, but as required for some projects, he/she will be responsible for managing and working with other journeyman and apprentice electricians.

Our roles are full-time and we have immediate availability in the Austin area. Hourly pay starts at $28 per hour, commensurate with experience. Overtime is often available if interested.

Compensation

• $28 per hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Run small crews and complete small projects
• Perform electrical work alone or with others making judgment calls for crews in the field
• Estimate the general amount of time and material to complete service tasks and present service manager with a written estimate
• Identify sales opportunities through building a strong relationship with the customer
• Communicate with vendors, owners, service managers and other team members to ensure jobs are completed on time & within budget
• Update as-built drawings to reflect current building conditions
• Represent Edge Electric to the client with a professional appearance
• Determine the most efficient way to install changes to existing service
• Communicate with Service Manager on a daily basis regarding scheduling and work progress
• Obtain and order materials as needed
• Complete all work within code requirements

Qualifications

• Experience in residential and/or commercial electrical service
• Professional communication skills with clients and contractors
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Punctuality for service calls
• TDLR electrician license
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
