What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real-time Technical Artist position at Edgelord LLC?
We are looking for an experienced, creative real-time technical artist. Our ideal collaborators are very passionate about making new things, and really care about making any given project as good as it can be. They need to understand and have compatible instincts with the established EDGLRD tone and art direction.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain efficient art pipelines, tools, and workflows
- Create and integrate shaders, materials, lighting, and special effects
- Experiment with art creation techniques and tools
- Optimize art assets and rendering to maintain optimal performance
- Assist in asset creation, including modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation
- Understand the overall creative direction and objectives
Required skills

Strong ability & familiarity with:
- Unity and/or Unreal
- Real-time rendering, shading, lighting, color, and post-processing effects
- Modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation
- Profiling and optimizing render performance
- Graphic and art design
- Source control (e.g. git, perforce)
- (UNITY) URP/HDRP/BIRP and their differences
- (UNITY) Shader Graph, VFX Graph
- (UNREAL) Blueprints
- (BONUS) C#, C and Graphics code
Experience & qualifications
- 3 years of experience in Unity and/or Unreal
- 5 years of experience in game development
- Contributed to a shipped commercial game
