Configuration Management Specialist

Organization is responsible for managing the daily activities of critical IT services. This includes working in collaboration with the SNL Facilities team in several 24×7 data center environments to ensure all critical systems are operational supporting the mission of the IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide configuration management planning.
• Utilize configuration management tools
• Provide expertise in system/processor architecture, desktop management interface, client/server architecture, operating systems, software applications, network protocols, routers, switches, remote access server, Virtual Private Network (VPN) and firewalls
• Describe provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status, accounting, and configuration audits.
• Regulate the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication (both oral and written), collaboration, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Understand organizational and human impacts of planned audits.
• Produce quantitative performance reports.
• Develop sustainable processes for ongoing testing, updates, and rollback for enterprise desktop software tools.
• Change Control Process
• Must be able to effectively complete simultaneous tasks on several projects with independent deadlines and deliverable.
• Strong experience with MS Office
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• BA/BS with 2 years experience or 6 yrs. Related experience, or AA 3 yrs, related experience.

Desired skills:

• Experience in Linux, and/or Windows Operating System (OS), including file management, scripting, editing, and security.
• Able to work pro-active in fast paced environment.
• Produce regular metrics and reporting to show progress, measure defects, and drive projects to completion.
• Proficient with VMWARE ESX versions 6.7 and 7.0
• Lifecycle and patch management experience.
