Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Work Planner 1/2 opportunities for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos Legacy Waste Cleanup Project.
Primary Work Location: TA-54 CH-TRU
SCOPE
Seeking Work Planner 1/2 to support CH-TRU Waste Operations. The approved candidate will report to CH-TRU Maintenance Director. The Work Planner will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task including necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Work Planner develops work packages in accordance with Integrated Safety Management System principles. The Planner will interface with all stakeholders and will ensure that appropriate Subject Matter Experts participate in the development and approval of work packages. The Planner will initiate and see to completion, any and all Job Hazard Analyses required for a work package. The Planner will identify tools and materials required for the safe execution of the work package and will coordinate with procure specialists to order any required materials / tools / equipment. The Planner will participate in the work screening process.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
- Aids in preparation of technical work packages in accordance with Integrated Safety Management System guidance.
- Aids in development and implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance programs on new and existing equipment.
- Interface with work task requestor to fully define the scope of the work task.
- Interface with other Subject Matter Experts to perform walk downs of the work task site.
- Initiate material / tool / equipment requests.
- Aids in identification and initiation of Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as necessary.
- Aids in identification of required resources for work task and coordinate with Maintenance to ensure resources have appropriate training and skills.
- Co-ownership of the work package from initiation to close out, including following the work task as it is executed.
- Aids in development and preparation of reports with the history and current status of maintenance activities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
Knowledge of facility maintenance planning including systems engineering design and maintenance, safety/authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control, facility control systems, major construction projects, and upgrades and renovations.
- Ability to conduct research, investigating and identifying alternative solutions to solve complex problems affecting facility maintenance and administration.
- General understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration
- Knowledge of Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS) implementation, and OSHA requirements for safe work performance.
- Able to adapt procedures, tools and/or equipment to meet specialist needs.
- Able to perform duties and tasks that are varied and complex.
- Able to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of problems and issues.
- Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook) required.
- Able to develop approaches for new or improved processes.
- Ability to work with broad objectives, with latitude to determine the best way to accomplish tasks.
- Must be able to complete and maintain all training and qualifications required for the position.
