Senior Accountant - Onsite

We are seeking a passionate and talented Senior Accountant with expertise working within the Health Insurance industry. This is an on-site position.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in accounting and finance related activities. This individual will be responsible for creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization, supporting the closing process, maintaining the general ledger, and reconciling Balance Sheet accounts.

Responsibilities/Standards of Practice

Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure, including accounting matters like the chart of accounts.

Responsible for Bank account management and cash funding accounting.

Reconcile and maintain tight controls over cash inflows and outflows.

Analyze data from Network and other partners to ensure accuracy throughout the process.

Reconciles reimbursement payments for social security member benefits.

Support the month and year-end close process, including preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations.

Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and related audit support.

Support the CEO with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Managing and supervising all functions and procedures of the accounting department.

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required

Minimum 5 years of accounting experience

Previous medical field expertise in a health insurance company or HMO plan with authorizations, patient referrals and or customer service sales is required.

Must know QuickBooks Professional.

General accounting practice and preference in healthcare, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial reports and balance sheet preparation.

Proficient in all functions of computer office use including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), crystal reporting and other day to day software tools.
