PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Testing/Tutorial Facilitator is responsible for the supervision and implementation of the district’s middle school tutorial assistance program and the coordination of all campus testing programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
TEA certification requirements for secondary teacher in a content area
Principal/Mid-Management certification preferred
At least 3 years of successful teaching experience required
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Be able to work with administrators, students, and teachers
General Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF TUTORIAL:
? Work with teachers, principals and program coordinator to plan and schedule tutorial assignments.
? Supervise tutorial sessions after school and use the 10 extra days to monitor and supervise the program on Saturdays.
? Work a flexible schedule that includes Saturdays and after school hours.
? Screen and select college student tutors using stated criteria and assist the Curriculum Assistant on assigning At Risk students with an assigned tutor.
? Schedule in-service and training activities for teachers and college tutors.
? Maintain a tutorial binder with all district required reports such as lesson plans, attendance, and payroll sheets.
? Assist teachers and tutors in identifying specific student needs.
? Evaluate the performance of tutors and makes necessary changes based on results.
? Document and maintain all necessary program data and submit on a monthly basis to the Curriculum Assistant.
? Prepare timesheets for teachers and tutors and submit reported work hours/payroll to the Curriculum Assistant for approval.
TESTING:
? Organize and supervise all campus testing.
? Attend all district required test administration training to ensure that proper testing procedures are implemented.
? Schedule and conduct training sessions for campus test administrators.
? Utilize evaluation data to improve professional skills and knowledge.
? Maintain test security and confidential integrity for all assessments.
? Verify student demographic data and program information.
? Secure and collect all testing materials and meet all deadlines.
? Assist principals/staff in organizing and conducting staff development to implement the district and state
mandated testing program, policies, and procedures.
? Be knowledgeable of testing accommodations and/or modifications for special populations.
? Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible and serve as role model for all campus staff.
? Work with others in a positive and productive way.
? Work cooperatively and collaboratively with others to ensure campus goals and district philosophy/mission are successfully developed and implemented.
? Take the initiative to develop needed professional skills appropriate to job assignments.
? Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to one self and/or to others.
? Perform other related duties as assigned.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
? Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing; move, lift, carry small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment
? Frequent district-wide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
