The pay range and the specific pay for the successful candidate are determined in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Southern California Edison Company and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47.

In this challenging and exciting position, you'll be responsible for the activities of the planning department by providing direction and support, assess and manage their performance and workload, mentor and provide training and development. The successful candidate is tasked with accurate reporting on project status and managing resource needs. This position will interface with other internal departments, government and various external agencies and maintain effective working relationships.

- Resolve complex design issues from residential/commercial developers and governmental agencies.
- Support and monitor the implementation of new work order processes and methods, technology and automation while meeting ongoing project and customer demands.
- Provide future load projections to various SCE departments.
- Responsible for work order review and approvals, monitoring various reports to ensure accuracy, and developing/revising business plans as needed.
- Attaining customer satisfaction goals and addressing sensitive and elevated customer issues in a timely manner.
- Manage the selection, training and development, performance management, compensation, and discipline of subordinate personnel.
- Support the implementation of necessary changes for efficiency and business needs.
- Consistently enforce safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
The essentials
- Five or more years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Five or more years of experience in electrical utility distribution service planning or equivalent position in substation, transmission, or generation.
- Valid US Driver's License.
The preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in construction standards, transmission, or distribution design standards, or G.O.95/128 standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Outlook 365, and programs such as Click Schedule, DSRP, and Click Schedule.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing work orders or construction plans using current construction, engineering, and design standards.
- Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures including training and development, administering discipline, salary administration, selection and development of new talent, affirmative action, and equal opportunity.
You should know
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

- The primary work location for this position is Eastern Rurals (Yucca Valley/Blythe Service Center). However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).
- This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week.

- This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests: Edison Individual Contributor Workstyles (Test #8201). Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
