Secondary MTSS Instructional Specialist.  Edmond Public Schools Administration Center. (05/3/2022 Replacement Position).  Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in School Psychology preferred.  Begins 7/1/2022.  Temporary Contract/District Scale. 240 day Contract. Application deadline 5/24/2022 or until filled.

 

POSITION TITLE:     Secondary MTSS Instructional Specialist

DEPARTMENT:            Educational Services

REPORTS TO:           Associate Superintendent/Executive Director of Educational Services

JOB GOALTo provide a comprehensive continuum of training related to RTI (Response to Intervention) through consultation, coaching, and planned professional development for district and site certified personnel regarding the implementation of academic and behavior interventions designed to enhance student learning at the secondary level.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Provide district-level development, training, and consultation for the implementation of Rt
  2. Provide sites individual training, coaching, and consultation regarding RtI implementation.
  3. Provide support to Secondary School Psychologists.
  4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on secondary curriculum, and current best practices.
  5. Develop training based on Edmond’s RtI service delivery model.
  6. Provide professional development.
  7. Develop a review and selection process for the inclusion of evidence based interventions/ programs.
  8. Ensure a continual improvement process for the implementation of Rt
  9. Work with schools to support personnel.
  10. Partner with school administrators to assist in school-wide, data based decisions that maximize overall school performance.
  11. Calculate, collect, analyze and interpret building level and district level data for reports.
  12. Annually assist the District Testing Coordinator with state-wide assessment processes.
  13. Review and revise the district’s Secondary RtI Manual and Procedures.
  14. Assist building and district administrators in identifying RtI resources for both academics and behavior, as well as provide professional development.
  15. Any other duties as assigned.

Length of Contract:          Two hundred forty (240) contract days

 

Evaluation:                     Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Associate

                             Superintendent/Executive Director of Educational Services in

                             accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policies and state              law.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

 

QUALIFICATION:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Master's Degree
  • Prefer degree in areas such as school psychology, educational psychology, applied behavioral studies in education, or other related fields of school psychology.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience implementing Response to Intervention (RtI)
  • Knowledge of Response to Intervention practices and standardization
  • Knowledge of Systems-level change
  • Leadership experience, data management and analysis, and communication skills to effectively support individual, site, and district level RtI implementation

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in School Psychology preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret assessment data, periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports and write formal correspondence.  The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from school personnel and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to use mathematical skills required to conduct correlations of data and statistical analysis.  Maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position.

 

 

 

REASONABLE ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, as well as deal with several abstract and/or concrete variables in a multitude of situations.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed to perform essential job functions.  Ability to apply knowledge of current research practices.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.  Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
