Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspirational leadership and overall management of fleet maintenance operations for the entire fleet.
  • Provide oversight of fleet maintenance, asset management, and fleet procurement.
  • Provide professional organizational management and leadership, including mentoring and development of General Managers understanding of all fleet related areas.
  • Partner closely with the senior management team to address strategic, tactical, and operating issues in a forward-thinking manner.
  • Research, identify and present ideas/suggestions that support cost reductions, while ensuring quality and appropriate fleet size and spending.
  • Fleet rationalization and utilization management.
  • Manage fleet asset database (Fleetio) and ensure accuracy of all data to include vehicles, titles, registrations, truck books, insurance, U1As, MCS 90 and MCS 50.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure best-in-class operational performance; measure actual to expected performance and take actions as appropriate to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Lead negotiations and annual equipment spec reviews.
  • Make recommendations on how to best leverage new and emerging technologies.
  • Oversee fleet card use and produce meaningful analysis.
  • Ensure that safety is the priority in all fleet related evaluation and decision making.

 

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of experience in related field.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivation, and training.
  • Expert knowledge of best driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance and other industry practices
  • Basic math and data analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and management software (FLEETIO)
  • Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed.
  • Ability to develop, monitor, and manage a budget.
  • Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Previous safety or fleet leadership for a multi-location, multi-state organization.
  • Assertive ability to troubleshoot and manage difficult situations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that operates 24/7/365.
  • Must have a highly developed sense of urgency and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to clearly communicate technical concepts, requirements, and policies with all employees.
