Scope of Position: Provide case management, career counseling and transitional support to service members, and their spouses, that are within 6 months of transitioning from active-duty status. Provide support and assistance in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement upon leave of active duty.
Essential Functions:
Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunities
Determine WIOA eligibility and accurately complete required documentation for enrollment
Build professional one-on-one working relationships with transitioning service members or their spouses, to assist in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment
Link transitioning soldiers exiting military service with regional opportunities that fit their skill set
Work with Veteran Employment representatives to leverage opportunities for transitioning soldiers and eligible spouses
Encourage transitioning service members or their spouses to participate in, and follow through with planned activities as outlined in contract with funding agency
Oversee customer activities and assist with workshop schedules
Create solutions to customer attendance problems
Maintain organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contacts
Maintain customer files as specified by contractor
Complete accurate and timely data entry as required
Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies
Provide consistent and comprehensive case management follow-up ensuring that contacts are made as required by specific contract and accommodating customer work schedules
Document all participant contacts and activities in case progress notes
Assist in the preparation of project reports as needed
Ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract
Work with the team on implementing processes that increase customer engagement

Required Experience:
Career counseling experience required
Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts
Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills
Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
Able to work fully onsite, fully virtual or in a hybrid environment
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human resources or a related area is required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Knowledge of or familiarity with transition services and processes as they relate to service members leaving the military (Preferred)
