Route Dispatcher

Description

E.H. Wolf & Sons and M.A. Wolf Trucking Inc. are recruiting a Route Dispatcher to increase overall safety, efficiency, time management of drivers and sales growth. To excel in this position, all candidates should be able to multi-task in stressful conditions with little supervision. The Route Dispatcher position is based out of the Slinger office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a manner that will keep the employees and the community safe.
• Create efficient routes and assign drivers to each route, daily. 
• Assign orders for drivers and schedule deliveries.
• Oversees equipment availability; assigns drivers, trucks, and extra drivers when needed.
• Anticipates weather complications along routes and at the drivers’ destinations; communicates delays and route changes, as necessary.
• Maintains radio and/or phone contact with drivers; receives and dispatches response and emergency aid when needed. 
• Monitors drivers’ working hours to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
• Reviews billing and operation records; monitors daily logs. 
• Processes pricing through the software system. 
• Prepare reports as instructed for review.
• Interacts with customers via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide support and information on products and services. 
• Obtain fuel inventories and obtain tank readings daily either manually or electronically. 
• Efficient in Transport Dispatching for backup and weekend rotation. 
• Ability to work weekends/extended hours on a rotation.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly driver specific safety meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in related field preferred.
• At least three years of related experience and execution of similar duties in warehouse/freight operations preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to be able to communicate with a variety of people i.e. customers, drivers, coworkers. 
• Strong organizational skills to prepare and assign routes when required. 
• Basic understanding of geographical area and mapping programs to facilitate efficient routing.
• Proficient with or able to quickly learn dispatch and recordkeeping systems.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Salary : $33,200 - $42,000
