Search Engineer - Now Hiring

Edward Jones is seeking an experienced and talented individual to join the Enterprise Search team, responsible for critical technology including enterprise and intranet specific search. The ideal candidate is highly motivated to innovate and partner with key stakeholders to advance an increasingly mobile and collaborative workforce. Practical experience with enterprise-level search platforms in a large, fast paced and highly available enterprise environment is required.

Job Description:

The Search Engineer for Enterprise Search team is responsible for planning, growth, and support of delivering firmwide and scoped search solutions. Providing a highly available environment that aligns with industry best practices and a premium user experience is a top priority for this group.

What You'll Do:

Key deliverables in the position include:

• Design and architect enterprise search platform combining SaaS systems (Microsoft 365/SharePoint Online), custom cloud applications, and on-premises applications.

• Update and maintain search configuration and components – connectors, metadata mapping, spell correction, query suggestion, etc.

• Help to connect data across the organization so that associates can quickly and efficiently locate the answers they need

• Maintain highly available systems and quickly triage any user impacting event

• Support the user community through direct communication and high touch interactions

• Provide technical mentoring to fellow associates and team members

• Align development and deliverables with the firm's strategic direction

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems preferred or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 4 years' experience working in search technologies – Microsoft Search, Azure Cognitive Search, Solr, Elastic Search, Lucene, etc.

• 7 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering application solutions for enterprise-level development and integration projects

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL database solutions

• Python and ML/NLQ experience is desired

• Proficient working experience in a highly dynamic and rapid development environment (Agile development experience)

• Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders, and working as part of a dynamic remote team

• Strong willingness to learn and apply new and emerging technologies
