Job Title: Repair Technician
Location: Chelmsford, MA
Manager's Job Title: Polycold Program Manager
Purpose of the Job:
Conduct depot repair activities for all Polycold products including, but not limited to, evaluation, repair, testing, and failure analysis support.
Main Responsibilities:
- Promote safety culture and practice proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment at all times
- Accurately communicate with customer service, planner, service manager regarding all services performed and clearly present all options for any required repairs, upgrades, or other customer needs
- Troubleshoot and repair Polycold cryochillers, gas chillers, and compact cryocoolers
- Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform troubleshooting and failure analysis.
- Perform operational tests and fault isolation on software, systems, and equipment.
- Maintain documentations, report results to stakeholders, and assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Completely fill out all work orders, evaluation forms, warranty forms, test records, and parts return slips
- Train and assist other service technicians
- Organize and maintain depot area per 5S methodology
Organization Chart:
Required Experience:
- Hands on experience on cryogenic refrigeration systems repair preferred.
- Experience on Cryochiller system is highly preferred.
- Hold a EPA certification or willing to get one.
- Ability to test and troubleshoot at system level.
- Ability to work with pressurized and vacuum systems.
- Ability to perform leak check, braze, weld, and bend tubes.
- Ability to read and work from diagrams and schematics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills.
