Join Egan Company as a Systems Support Analyst. In this entry-level role, youll support our main headquarters and other work-sites with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to our VPN system, VoIP phone system and any combination of electronic office equipment (copier, etc.).
Playing an integral role in Egan as a whole, this position is part of our IT department, and serves as part of the Help Desk staff. Responsibilities range from day-to-day fixes to long-term initiatives, technology changes, and overall system improvements.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage, research, diagnose and respond to incoming help desk requests.
- Request information from IT staff that requires access to third party vendor sites for set up, adjusting employee accesses and set-up configuration.
- Set up new equipment for existing or new employees, including Chromebooks, desktop (VMWare) machines and VoIP phone configuration.
- Support remote sites (Twin Cities area, PCs, VMware View Clients, Servers, Network) including physical visits to maintain equipment and work with users to repair/set-up equipment.
- Maintain and set up Egan Company cell phones, including upgrades, apps, ordering, and troubleshooting.
- Assess server connectivity issues and escalate as appropriate for repairs.
- Ensure network connectivity and functionality.
- Attend daily and weekly department meetings to understand department and company priorities.
- Approximately 10% or less of role is engrossed in projects and server responsibilities to coincide with need to Egan business, LAN and software upgrades and nuances.
- While this role primarily operates out of our Champlin, MN location, this person may travel minimally on a rotational basis to our office in Rochester, MN or various jobsites around the Twin Cities as needed.
Position Requirements
- Possess or in progress towards a two- or four-year degree in an IT-related program, such as computer networking, or equivalent experience.
- Recent or upcoming college graduates are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- 0-3 years of IT/Systems Support related experience.
- At least 6 months to a year of previous help desk experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Windows, MS Office, Internet, and PC hardware, TCP/IP, and networking is required.
- Must be able to work as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess the ability to explain technical issues in non-technical terms.
- Ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with end users and vendors.
- Strong organizational skills to deal with customer needs and competing priorities.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to perform standard mathematical calculations.
- Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and reacts to these appropriately.
Working Conditions
- Performance of duties mostly in the office, with occasional visits to Egan's office in Rochester and jobsites located around the Twin Cities.
