Senior Internal Controls Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Grant Thornton is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Risk practice and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities.

Our public sector team members find solutions that help government leaders with issues including acquisitions, financial management, human capital, information technology and performance management in federal, state, local and international governments. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

• Support standard Risk Management processes and ensure government and internal standards are met. 

• Project Management: assist with the scheduling and presentation material for all status meetings with Senior Leaders. 

• Preform data analysis to understand client’s business and identify risks. 

• Assures development and completion of Risk Management deliverables throughout the process 

• Identify, assess, and ensure the risk mitigation process is followed across the business throughout the relevant departments 

• Conduct assessments to define and analyze the relevant possible risks and consequences as well as ensuring audit procedures and processes to follow. 

• Design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks as per relevant regulatory requirements. 

• Prepare reports and present recommendations to help develop Risk Management controls and systems. 

• Work closely with different departments to resolve internal risk and quality problems using established RM models. 

• Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials. 

• Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization). 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the public sector consulting. 

• Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees. 

• Experience and Knowledge of Government Standards, Guidelines and Frameworks OMB A-123, GOA, FISCAM, NIST.
