Manufacturing Production Worker/Machine Operator - Sheet Metal

Job Title: Production Worker/Machine Operator

Department: Production

Reports To: Building 1 Group Leader

Position Summary: Metal shop Fabrication in a fast paced, high volume environment. Must be able to reliably read tape measure, blueprints, and follow directions.

Minimum Background, Experience, and Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of metal fabrication experience.
• Strong desire to learn on the job
• Ability to read blueprints and understand assembly drawings and bill of materials
• Able to read and write English well and use a computer.
• Deadline driven and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Able to read a tape measure and operate simple power and manual hand tools.
• Reliable, good work ethic, high integrity.

Tasks / Responsibilities:

• Receive production orders from Group Leader and complete work orders based on instructions provided by the supervisor and on work orders.
• Operate Saws, Shears, Drill Presses, Spot Welders, Metal Panel Bending Machines, Hardware Insertion Machines
• Learn to operate more complex automated metal fabrication machinery.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Aid in the movement of component parts / materials to the production area, and of finished parts to next operation.
• Read blueprints and bill of materials to ensure proper parts are being produced.
• Scan into and out of work orders correctly and record accurate count of welded assemblies.
• Aid in other departments as needed by supervisor.
