Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: Director of QA

Position Summary: QA Inspector in a fast-paced, high mix low volume environment. Must be able to reliably inspect sheet metal components and assemblies to drawings, and interface with the production and engineering staff to solve problems when they arise.

Minimum Background, Experience, and Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of experience in quality control or inspection roles within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
• Strong desire to learn on the job
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, or non-destructive testing equipment
• Ability to read blueprints and understand assembly drawings and bill of materials
• Able to read and write English well and use a computer.
• Deadline driven and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, good work ethic, and high integrity.

Tasks / Responsibilities:

• Inspection of sheet metal laser cut and formed parts.
• Inspection of final assembled tables, fume hoods, and miscellaneous parts
• Process DMR's (Discrepant Material Report) and ECN's (Engineering Control Notice)
• Support calibration program
• Assist in continuous improvement programs
• Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations and has good Microsoft, mainly Excel and additional computer skills
• Collaborate with team to identify and implement process improvements
• Organizing meetings to resolve issues help make necessary improvements and process changes
• Document and process customer returns
• Identify and implement continuous improvement programs throughout the organization
• Skills in evaluating customer feedback responses and program improvements
• Other responsibilities as communicated by your supervisor
