SUMMARY
Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for the company by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews customer supply or service requests and negotiates with existing and/or potential suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Estimates values according to awareness of market price.
- Negotiates contracts based on supplier proposals within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Visits supplier facilities and attends applicable trade shows to stay current on trends and meet suppliers.
- Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
- Prepares purchase orders and supporting procurement documents.
- Monitors flow of goods and services and expedites orders as required.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Monitors and evaluates supplier performance with regards to product quality, invoicing accuracy and on-time delivery of goods and services. Initiates corrective action if needed.
- Reviews defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of concern and take corrective action.
- Understanding of MRP software.
- Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.
- Promotes the company culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and 3 to 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
