JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Landscape Worker II Leadman Date 3-5-2018
Reports To: Director of Landscaping
Department: Landscaping
Primary Responsibilities: Supervised by theDirector of Landscaping, this person completes: work orders, irrigation installs and repairs, transplanting, pruning and operates power equipment as needed. The Leadman is responsible for the Supervision and direction of the Landscape crew in the absence of the Director.
Essential Duties:
- Oversees work and direction of crew in absence of the Landscape Director.
- Complete work orders from beginning to end.
- Initiates personnel action forms from staff and give those to the Director for approval.
3. Install, maintain and repair all irrigation systems.
4. Transplant grass, ground cover and small plants.
5. Weed planted areas and hand water when required.
6. Operate power driven mowers, sprayers and utility vehicles.
7. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the tools assigned to this job.
8. Operate electrical and gasoline powered equipment.
9. Apply herbicides for weeds.
10. Apply baits for rodents, snails, ants and centipedes.
Working Conditions: Indoors shop conditions, outdoors in all types of weather.
Equipment Used: Brooms, rakes, pruning shears, hoes, shovels, weed pullers, trimmers, hand trucks, wheelbarrows, carts. Operates push and riding mowers, thatchers, company truck and trailers.
Work Hours: 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekdays, or as required, including weekends or holidays.
Mental and Physical Demands: Requires frequent lifting and moving of trash cans, pails, boxes, equipment, etc. weighing 50 lbs. or more. Requires learning the regular maintenance routine, while following specific instructions and safety procedures. Requires basic reading, writing, math and problem solving. Notifies supervisor of landscape problem areas.
