Position Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the Supervisor I task will include program planning and implementation. The Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and supporting the CHWs/Promotores, depending on the project assigned. The ideal person for this position has a desire to serve their community, understand cultural diversity, and know their community needs. The Supervisor will oversee 5 to 8 CHWs/Staff - can vary depending on the program.
Minumum Requirements:
- 1-2 years of related/equivalent experience in a supervisory role with some college; 10-30 units or 2 years of related/equivalent experience in a supervisory role.
- Valid California Driver’s License, Car insurance, and Car registration.
- Bilingual (Spanish/ English; speak and write).
- Pass FBI background check (Custodian of Records for DOJ).
Responsibilities:
- Oversee two or more programs.
- Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to Community Health Workers (CHW) / Promotores.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members to ensure a cohesive and efficient workforce.
- Conduct regular check-ins, one-on-one meetings, and performance evaluations to support professional growth and development.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of community health programs in collaboration with the Supervisor II and management team.
- Support CHW/Promotores in delivering health education, outreach, and advocacy services to target populations.
- Ensure program activities align with organizational goals, objectives, and community needs.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, local organizations, and healthcare partners.
- Collaborate with external partners to facilitate referrals, access to resources, and support services for community members.
- Represent El Sol NEC at community events, meetings, and health fairs to promote awareness and engagement.
- Assist in the collection, entry, and maintenance of program data and participant records.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation, reports, and outcome measures.
- Collaborate with the data management team to analyze trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.
- Support adherence to regulatory standards, organizational policies, and best practices in community health.
- Address any issues or challenges that may arise, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Review and approve the Team Leaders or CHWs/Promotores TSheets, mileage, calendars, and backup documentation according to the agency and program policies.
- Complete and review yearly staff performance evaluations.
- Supervise data entry and office assistant.
- Supervise the CBO’s contracts, invoices, and documentation.
- Prepare reports for the funders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Willing to drive within the surrounding work area.
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management.
- Capable of working/ understanding the needs of a multicultural environment.
- Strong work ethics, maintaining a professional appearance, and exercising discretion with sensitive information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle interruptions, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to perform tasks related to physical activity to include sitting, standing, for long periods of time, caring, bending, moving, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Understand the community served and to be connected to the community.
