Packaging Operator

The Packaging Operator performs activities that support the packaging and labeling of products. Primary duties include applying labels to vials and/or bottles, packing orders for shipment, capping vials, retrieving necessary materials from storage and completing paperwork related to activity.

Responsibilities:

• Labeling and packing vaccines for shipment. Includes applying labels to vials or bottles, placing vials/bottles in appropriate carton, and applying outer box and/or carton label
• Capping vials of lyophilized vaccines, using and maintaining capping equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Completing required paperwork (packaging/labeling records) accurately and efficiently following company documentation procedures
• Entering required data in SAP (Systems, Applications and Products in data processing)
• Monitoring the packaging line to prevent bottlenecks, as well as ensuring final product quality in accordance with company and USDA standards
• Trouble-shooting labeling equipment to ensure process runs efficiently
• Participating in cycle and/or year-end inventory counting processes
• Keeping work area neat, clean and organized
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualification:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Detail orientated and self-motivated
• Must be dependable and able to work in a fast-pace team orientated environment
• Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.

Additional Preferences:

• 1-2 years of experience in a packaging role
• 1-2 years of experience operating powered industrial trucks

Other information:

• This is a fixed duration employment for 24 months period with a possibility of transitioning into a permanent position.

Notification of Drug testing and Background Checks

Elanco conducts urinalysis drug testing as a mandatory part of its pre-employment application and background check process after acceptance of a conditional offer of employment by an applicant. All test results shall be considered confidential and shall not be disclosed by Elanco, other than to those persons for whom such disclosure is necessary. Positive test results, or a refusal to consent to and participate in pre-employment drug testing, shall be grounds for denial of employment. Cooperation in scheduling the testing is important for processing an application for employment.
