Position Description
Eleanor Health is looking for an experienced data engineer to join our growing organization. In this role, you will be tasked with creating and supporting a modern data platform to drive development and operational efficiencies for our ETL, analytics, actuary, data science and operational users. You will report directly to our Head of Data and Analytics as a core member of the data team supporting our analytics end users.
The Data Engineer will work alongside the Data Analysts on our Data team and report to the Head of Data and Analytics.
Responsibilities.
- Maintain a high level of quality in code through testing, profiling, and debugging
- Participate in the selection and integration tooling and new data vendors
- Contribute to building a healthcare focused data platform that optimizes for time to data quality, data observability, and logic deployment
- Collaborate with the product management and stakeholders to design, spec, and estimate user stories
- Deploy and maintain software running in a HIPAA-compliant production environment
Qualifications
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and procedures in a data infrastructure environment (data dog, great expectations)
- Strong understanding of data infrastructure to shape a technically appropriate, maintainable, and scalable enterprise grade data integration platform in the cloud
- 3 years Python development experience
- 3 years working on engineering data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Presto, Spark, Flink etc.) on large scale datasets
- 3 years SQL experience
- Experience with schema design and data modeling
- Experience with GCP, AWS, or other cloud providers
- Experience with workflow management engines (i.e. Airflow, Google Cloud Composer)
- Experience working with product management and design teams through the full cycle of software development
- Good communication skills to articulate data issues across teams
- Operated in an agile environment while leveraging the Scrum framework
- Ability to architect and implement software systems in complex domains
- High level of empathy and humility.Strong written communication skills
- Self-starter who is highly motivated and can contribute individually and work effectively on a team.Experience working with a remote team
