Job Description
Electra is seeking Junior Avionic Engineers for future projects.
Responsibilities:
- Involved in designing, fabricating, modifying, or testing aircraft or aerospace products.
- Produces designs, analyses, specifications, and testing procedures for avionics systems
- Conduct experimental, environmental, operational, or stress tests on models or prototypes of aircraft or aerospace systems or equipment.
- Work with senior Engineers to contribute to aspects of the aircraft avionics systems life cycle.
- Work with senior Engineers to develop requirements compatible with safety/certification, performance, and business objectives.
- Conduct trade studies and help define concepts.
- Help select and manage suppliers and partners.
- Prepare and perform avionics systems laboratory, ground, and flight testing.
- Produce technical and airworthiness documentation.
- Collaborate with program management, other IPTs, and functional groups to accomplish team goals
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 0 years of relevant experience in avionics development on commercial aircraft and prototypes through internships, co-ops, externships, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related discipline preferred; advanced degree in related discipline strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on technical experience with specification, development, integration, testing, and certification of flight decks and fly-by-wire systems.
- Familiarity with FAR Part 23/25/27/29, ARP 4761/4754A, DO-178, DO-160, MIL-STD-461/464, MIL-STD-810 and other aerospace regulations/processes/standards.
- Familiarity with FAA and EASA certification process.
- Experience with developing hardware in the loop development and telemetry flight testing.
- Licensed pilot (FAA, EASA, PPL, CPL, etc.)
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
Location: Headquarters in Manassas, VA. This position can operate in a hybrid model however is mainly onsite.
Travel: 10-15%
