Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement proactive maintenance programs to reduce costs and minimize downtime, including planning and executing major equipment overhauls for long-term reliability.
Establish efficient work order systems and backlog control, optimizing job assignments with support from requesters and subordinates.
Lead and execute capital projects aligned with the company's business development goals, maintaining 1, 3, and 5-year plans.
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate relevant reports for effective function management and communication.
Ensure proper allocation of resources within budget to achieve objectives efficiently and on schedule.
Manage and achieve the engineering department's annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the workplace, continuously pursuing efficiencies and cost reductions.
Uphold compliance with quality assurance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety standards, and other company protocols.
Develop or update standard operational practices and monitor employee adherence to these standards.
Oversee building demolition and structural changes while maintaining interior building structures for prolonged asset life at minimal cost.
Source and supervise the installation of new machinery not covered by existing contracts.
Establish and maintain high standards for housekeeping, waste management, air quality, and water quality.
Ensure compliance with local, county, and state regulations, including health, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, wastewater, water quality, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other government agency codes.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in an automated food processing plant, with a strong preference for bakery experience.
A minimum of 5 years of comprehensive food safety and quality experience, particularly in automated food processing plants and bakeries.
Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Familiarity with equipment setup, functions, operating procedures, and preventative maintenance techniques.
Comprehensive understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
