EA Create is looking for a Senior Animator to join our team in assisting Maxis on The Sims. EA Create is known to partner with AAA studios such as BioWare, Respawn, and Maxis, and assist on the critically acclaimed Madden and FIFA franchises. You would report to a director within the Animation team and create high-quality hand-keyed performances in all aspects of your work. You know how to reveal attitude, emotions, and mood through a character's movement and behavior, and create memorable characters which will appeal to players. It's essential to have knowledge of the timing and appearance of human and animal movement and facial expressions. In the end, the look of a game is one of the most significant factors contributing to its overall success.
Role Requirements:
- Degree in Fine Arts or Computer Animation.
- Have a minimum of 7 years professional animation experience.
- Expert proficiency in Maya.
- Reliable internet service to work remotely.
- Passionate about animation.
- Production experience in a professional animation setting.
Role Expectations:
- Create high-quality hand-key animation.
- Work with the Animation Director and Leads to deliver quality animation that meets outlined expectations.
- Ensure all animations contribute to the direction of the game in both the experience and the story being told.
- Bring a strong understanding of classic animation principles and fundamentals.
- Animate weight, character personality, mood, and believability through realistic or stylized performances.
- Learn and work with proprietary animation run-time integration tools.
- Verify animations in engine
- Shoot reference video using instruction and feedback from the Animation Director and Leads.
- Understand feedback and deliver revisions at the expected quality within the assigned time frame.
- Be an active participant within the team.
- Prompt attendance at all meetings and reviews.
- Organize your work and notes to be easily understood by team members.
- Collaborate and communicate with directors, animators, production and technical staff.
