The System Designer works within EENY’s project team, they are responsible for designing projects on time, on budget, and to the customer’s highest satisfaction. The System Designer is responsible for generating and proofing CAD drawings, validating material lists, and creating accurate and complete equipment requests.
Responsibilities
- Support Sales and Project Managers by providing designs and engineering work as requested.
- Including but not limited to:
- Conceptualizing and creating project design packages based of proposals, sales information, and initial meetings with clients/architect/builders.
- Maintaining and updating all pertinent plans and documentation for projects.
- Create and contribution to documents including AV Plans, Wire Schedule, Dimensions List, Elevation, Cabinet/Rack Drawings, Functional Schematics, Electrical Specifications, Wire Scaling information, Hookup Diagrams.
- Including but not limited to:
- Attend Kick Off, Engineering Review, Close Out meetings and other meetings as requested for assigned projects.
- Collaborate with Architects/Interior Designers/Electricians/General Contractors as requested for assigned projects.
- Integrate all AV/IT/Network equipment integration without affecting overall design of space.
- Advise the PM regarding quality of project, review design changes and assess overall performance of system.
- Maintain an organized and accurate database by reporting any issues/concerns related to projects, things such as discontinued product, improper markups, missing labor, etc.
- Assist the PM to ensure that design documents are engineered, proofed, and delivered by assigned deadlines. Notify PM as milestones are completed.
- Ensure the timely completion and delivery of project documents.
- Communicate to clients, field personnel, and others the intended wiring design, layout, and appearance of individual components of the project.
- Maintain proactive and regular communication, internally and externally, verbally and in writing, with clients, general contractors, and other project representatives to keep others informed about technical aspects of the project. Record and monitor total labor hours
- Attend site walk throughs as needed, ensure information is recorded on network and shared with others. Update documents based on information from Close Out meeting.
Job Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in the design and support of A/V projects, preferably in home automation.
• Demonstrated experience using project management software and tools. Prior experience using ConnectWise a plus.
• Industry certifications a plus.
• CAPM or PMP certification a plus.
• Experience interacting with stakeholders at all levels; over communicator.
• Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and able to multi-task conflicting critical requests.
• Ability to think both strategically and tactically to drive execution. Should be equally comfortable with long term planning and day-to-day progress tracking and execution.
• Proven track record of taking ownership and of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
• Have a solid grasp of customer success and ample experience developing client relationships, working with clients directly to find solutions.
• Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement.
