What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Supervisor position at Elegance?
1. Responsible for all functions of apartment cleaning. This consists of dusting, vacuuming, sheet and linen changing, bed making, and bathroom cleaning including toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors, and floors. Manage the housekeepers to achieve the desired results in resident satisfaction with apartment cleaning. Plans and schedules cleaning programs, including but not limited to annuals, move-in preparations, and carpet cleaning.
2. Schedules and manages the housekeepers to maintain a clean building in all common areas. Common areas of the community include main entry, alternative entries, reception area, corridors, bathrooms, activity rooms, and the dining room. Cleaning consists of vacuuming carpets, dusting, washing windows, straightening furniture and coffee service. Ensures all areas are appropriate for visitors and residents 7 days a week.
3. Monitors inventory levels, orders all equipment and supplies needed for department, and ensures the safe handling and storage of them.
4. Schedules and manages housekeepers’ time to ensure community laundry cleaning needs are met. Housekeepers will change residents’ bedding and linens each week as part of their monthly rent. Should the residents request, bedding and linens may be changed more frequently for an additional fee. Linen inventory needs to be kept at a level to accommodate weekly changes and schedules need to be made to allow for washing, drying, and following of linens to meet community demand.
5. May assist with monitoring the budget for the housekeeping department.
6. Maintains compliance with all local, state, federal, and licensing rules and regulations associated with the licensure of the building. Housekeeping Supervisors will manage housekeepers to comply with all rules as well. This includes HIPAA, OSHA, and labor laws, etc. that apply to the specific location of the property. Issues raised by any regulator will be immediately discussed with the management company.
7. Works in a safe manner and ensures that unsafe actions are brought to the attention of the Executive Director. Compliant with Safety Committee Standards. Should workplace injuries occur, the Executive Director will be notified and the Housekeeping Supervisor and Housekeepers will follow all procedures for treatment, investigation, and return to work. Injured workers will communicate with their supervisor as noted in the Employee Handbook.
8. Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions which assist others beyond job responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
9. Develops working knowledge of the organization to answer basic questions.
10. Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
