Overview

Element has an opportunity for an EMI Test Engineer to perform a variety of designing and overseeing EMI testing of a wide array of products to confirm compliance with applicable EMI/EMC requirements at our Tempe, AZ location. As a member of the operations team, the primary function of the EMI Test Engineer will be to focus on conducting compliance testing (setup, measure, and document results) on a wide variety of products while interfacing with customers on a daily basis. Pay Range:  $80,000 - $90,000 USD Annual

Responsibilities

  • Test Design - Use engineering principles to design EMI test procedures and specifications based on Customer SOWs and Test Standards
  • Perform Testing - Provide SME support to Technicians as tests are conducted Ensure that all necessary data is captured. May also run tests themselves
  • Data Processing - After test completion, review and interpret test data
  • Communicate findings to Program Manager and/or client
  • Receives general instruction on routine work and detailed instruction on new projects. Minimal supervision
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Regular interaction with clients. Builds productive internal/external working relationships
  • Full understanding, interpretation and analysis of test results
  • An experienced professional with full understanding of EMI Engineering principles; strong understanding of data interpretation, testing and troubleshooting. Extensive knowledge of global EMC standards and test specifications (both current and emerging requirements), Electrical and Mechanical principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all potential aspects of safety
  • Strong mathematical skills; able to design and use all standard and complex EMI equipment

Skills / Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering related field
  • 0-3 Years of experience
