What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Attendant position at Element?
JOB SUMMARY
Element by Westin offers and evening social for our guests Monday to Thursday between 5:30pm and 7pm. You will need to arrive at 5pm to prep and set up. Serve beer & wine and prep plates of cheese, bread & olives for our guest during our "Relax" time. You will need to clean up dishes, tables and kitchen after the social event wraps up. Typical end time is between 7:30pm & 8pm depending on the amount of dishes.
Our evening "RELAX" Host/Attendant's ensure that our guests end their day with a great evening adult beverage & snack along with great customer service. As the Relax host/attendant, you are responsible for setup, serving of beer, wine, bread & olive snacks, take-down, sanitation and restocking of the Relax social which is Monday to Thursday 5:30pm to 7pm. You will also greet guests and mingle with them throughout your shift. Our Relax host/attendants are always organized, calm, and friendly, going above and beyond to make sure our guests have the best experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate day-to-day activities, ensuring Relax is prepared in accordance to food handling regulations, guidelines and brand standards.
- Ensure food is prepped and ready for the beginning of Relax and replenished throughout the hour and a half.
- Welcome guests with a friendly greeting and a smile and ensure you are walking around the lobby area engaging them; replenish drinks and provide a memorable guest experience.
- Maintain inventory of all food supply and assist with the completion of food orders as necessary.
- Assist in necessary setup, service and breakdown of Relax.
- Inspect the kitchen, prep area, and dining space for cleanliness, working condition and proper furniture/equipment set-up.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
- Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization, and cleanliness.
- Clear and reset counters and tables at conclusion of each guest.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Respond to guest requests and complaints in a timely, efficient, appropriate and friendly manner.
- Work with the hotel team to create and deliver a memorable service experience for guests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of food service regulations.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills required.
- Able to easily and quickly lift and carry dish trays.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to utilize quick thinking and apply quick resolution to guest issues in accordance to the brand standards.
- Able to work in fast paced environment.
- Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
- Able to obtain food handler & OLCC servers permit
