Position Summary:
The Automation Technician II will work as a team member in a fast-paced injection molding environment, supporting the installation, setup, repair, and maintenance of automation systems. This position requires a solid understanding of robotics, secondary automated operations, and various support equipment. The role includes both technical hands-on tasks and collaboration with senior automation personnel to ensure all systems operate efficiently and meet engineering requirements.

Install and Set Up Automation Equipment:
- Install new or existing automation equipment in production cells or standalone operations.
- Ensure automation runs according to standards set by engineering and operations management.
- Utilize moving and leveling equipment for large automation installations.
- Follow instructions from senior automation personnel
- Automation Changeover:
- Perform setup and changeovers of automation equipment for multiple product lines.
- Understand and implement setup for robotics, automation cells, and standalone systems.
- Follow both verbal and written instructions for equipment changeover procedures.
- Repair and Troubleshooting:
- Utilize advanced troubleshooting skills in electrical and electronics systems for component-level diagnostics.
- Work with multi-meters, electrical testing devices, and thermal testing equipment.
- Understand PLC logic, both sourcing and sinking, and have basic knowledge of vision systems.
- Collaborate with Technician III for more complex issues when required.
- Fabrication and Maintenance:
- Perform fabrication work, including making guards and chutes out of Lexan, using tools such as vertical and band saws, milling machines, lathes, and grinders.
- Assist with repairs, modifications, or revisions to automation equipment under the guidance of senior personnel.
- Understand and adjust vibratory bowls for parts handling.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct planned maintenance using oils and lubricants, adhering to the Planned Maintenance System.
- Follow Proper Documentation Practices and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment (cGMP standards).
- Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping and trash removal.
- General Duties:
- Safely lift up to 50 pounds and be available for overtime as required.
- Perform additional tasks at the discretion of management.
Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic diagnostics.
- Proficient in the use of multi-meters and electrical testing equipment.
- Experience with PLC logic and basic vision systems.
- Competency in mechanical repairs and fabrication tools.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Willingness to work overtime and perform other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an injection molding or similar fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of vibratory action and part handling equipment.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
