Description
The Sr Database Security Advisor supports the Database Activity Monitoring Program will have experience with various data structures, database structures, data platforms - including on premises and Cloud environments, data models, and data services. Prior experience in a Database Activity Monitoring Program or initiative is key. A proven track record of successfully maintaining large-scale initiatives is critical. Responsible for the selection and delivery of strategic network security, access control and secure transaction/messaging solutions.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Provides advanced level engineering design for Imperva Sonar and SecureSphere products and services including DAM controls impact to enterprise including deployment, configuration, engineering and administration of the security infrastructure and application.
- Provides technical guidance and leadership to Program engineers
- Provides required information for audit and compliance
- Proposes opportunities to improve results based on targeted or continuous assessment.
- Assists in process and project management.
- Ensures and reviews appropriate testing practices.
- Represents major upgrades and business system replacements to leadership and provides strategy inputs.
- Maintains vendor relationships for Imperva products and services and ensures product related issues are resolved.
- Creates presentations and seeks management approval and acceptance
- Routinely acts as a subject matter expert for management.
- Tracks, documents, and communicates team metrics, accomplishments, and successes.
- Builds partnerships across the enterprise.
- Assists in the annual review of Information Security Policies and Program documents to include updates related to continued program maturation and evolutions.
- Supports the creation, review and delivery of messaging and responses for expansion, and ad-hoc assessments.
- Provides trouble resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems.
- Creates presentations and seeks IT management approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major security systems serving the Enterprise.
- May be assigned to project teams for technical consultation to business partners and developers.
- Designs & engineers comprehensive access management and network security technical solutions based on business requirements and defined technology standards; works with architecture to update technology direction & strategy.
- Develops reports supporting strategy and direction for management.
- Capable of serving as technical merger & acquisition lead.
- Acts as a subject matter expert among peers, with manager and senior management.
- Must be capable of providing support for 2 or more of the information security technology common body of knowledge skill sets: 1) Access Control, 2) Application Security, 3) Operations Security
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires BS/BA in information Technology or related field of study and a minimum of 8 years experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, access management and network security technologies, network communications, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management, hardware, software, data, and people.
- Previously worked with or has knowledge of Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) technology for on-premises relational databases and Cloud vendor supported databases including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Experience with multiple technical and business disciplines required.
- Requires broad-based experience to plan and design highly complex systems; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Security Certifications: CISSP and other advanced technical security certifications (e.g. Information Systems Security Architecture Professional, Information Security Engineering Professional, Certification and Accreditation Professional, or equivalent certifications) strongly preferred.
- Basic networking knowledge preferred.
- AWS, GCP, Azure general knowledge highly preferred.
- Previous DBA experience a plus.
