Summary of position-

The Chief Inspector accepts full ownership and manages all aspects of assigned aircraft work orders relative to return-to-service documentation from pre-planning to delivery of the aircraft. This position completes AD research; verifies completion of logbook research and monitors aircraft logbook entries and related documentation for accuracy and thoroughness of maintenance or modifications performed under Elevate Jet’s General Maintenance Manual and inspects aircraft airframes, engines, components, modifications and completions, processes and systems using appropriate tools and equipment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities-

  • Manages all aspects of assigned aircraft projects, return-to-service documentation, and airworthiness from pre-planning to delivery of the entire aircraft project through planning, prioritizing, and providing accurate communication with customers and team members as necessary.  
  • Completes AD research as applicable. Verifies completion of logbook research to identify the maintenance history of aircraft maintained by Elevate Jet. 
  • Reviews on-going and final revisions and entries to FAA required aircraft logbooks and other necessary aircraft related documentation to accurately record maintenance or modifications performed under Elevate Jet’s General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
  • Assess compliance requirements for certification activities on large projects related to conformity, issuance of standard airworthiness certificates for imports and registration number changes, issuance of export certificate of airworthiness, issuance of special airworthiness certificates for special flight permits, coordinating for issuance of special flight authorization.  
  • Responds to internal and external customers’ requests and inquiries related to aircraft maintenance, inspection, interpretation of regulatory compliance issues, and documentation requirements. 
  • Serves as liaison with the FAA in support of company personnel in ensuring compliance with FAR’s.
  • Supports the Director of Maintenance and the department in the Internal Evaluation and Audit Program (IEP).

  • Reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and sitting.


Education & Experience-

  • Must meet all requirements of CFR 119.65
  • High School graduate or equivalent required. College degree, preferred.
  • Airframe and Powerplant Certificate. 
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ten years of FAR Part 135 aviation maintenance experience on fixed wing turbine engines required.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in aircraft Return to Service requirements.


Schedule & Travel-

  • Standard business hours are expected for this role; however, the schedule may vary depending on the needs of the operation. Must be available for on-call work nights and weekends when required.
  • Travel may be required. Up to 10%.


Miscellaneous-

  • FLSA Status- Full time exempt.
  • Lifting requirements- Up to 40 Lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain an airport SIDA badge. 
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.
