Smart Grid Intern
The Smart Grid Intern works on data analysis initiatives supporting Hourly Pricing. The Smart Grid Intern learns technical skills and performs tasks that support larger projects while experiencing the day-to-day workings of the Smart Grid team. The Smart Grid Intern is able to learn about and perform data analysis and reporting tasks as they pertain to relevant program goals and Elevate’s mission more broadly. The Smart Grid Intern works closely with members of the Smart Grid team and other Elevate staff to support Smart Grid projects.
The Smart Grid Intern reports to the Associate Director, Smart Grid. This role is located in Chicago, IL and is a fully remote position.
Responsibilities
- Perform program administrative tasks.
- Review/QAQC documents and reports.
- Perform survey data analysis.
- Perform energy data analysis.
- Assist in the development of tools, templates, and SOPs.
- Perform assignments while working independently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with data visualization tools or platforms
- Experience with data analysis methods and implementation
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a virtual environment
Terms of Service
Internships at Elevate are paid positions, for current college or graduate students, or recent college graduates. The usual time commitment is for ten weeks, 35 – 38 hours/week but there is some flexibility with this internship. The Smart Grid Intern is paid $20/hour through a grant from the Crown Family Philanthropies.
If interns are handling confidential data, they will be asked to comply with security policies, as required. In addition, all policy interns are asked to comply with a confidentiality and nondisclosure agreement.
